I contributed to deepening the VICO dataset, which contains information on start-ups that received venture capital investments from 1998 to 2021, by creating new variables using machine learning models.
My responsibilities
- Train different machine learning models to classify the firms in the dataset as platform or non-platform
- Test the performance of those models and choose the best one
- Apply the models to the entire dataset
